Dear Lucy:

Henry David Thoreau, a philosopher and nature writer, lived on the
shores of Walden Pond for two years, two months and two days,
starting in the summer of 1845. His account of the experience was
recorded in his book "Walden; or, Life in the Woods", published in
1854.
"I think that I cannot preserve my health and spirits, unless I spend
four hours a day at least.......sauntering through the woods and over
the hills and fields, absolutely free from all worldly engagements."
~Henry David Thoreau
Walden Pond is on the top priority list of my trip plan.

"Pastoral Symphony and Walden Pond"
I have posted a music video clip from "youtube" in my website
"www.yehtze.com" on May 4th. I named it "Nature Walk".
It shows the beautiful photos of Walden Pond with background
music of Beethoven's Symphony No. 6, or known as "Pastoral
Symphony". It is a beautiful video.

If you are a nature lover, then you will like this book: "The Singing Wilderness".
It was written by an American naturalist, Sigurd F. Olson.
李永平, a college English teacher and writer in Taiwan, captured the spirit of Olson’s work and translated this book into Chinese. The book, entitled "大自然在唱歌 “,was published by
There was also a nice introduction of the book:
I introduced this book in my website, "www.yehtze.com" , on Sept.9, 2009.
